Carry On My Wayward Thumb

Okay, that's three. First the finger/hand, then the toe/foot, and now the other hand/thumb. I tried to long arm my thumb into Ann's quilt yesterday while basting in the sides after a roll...

Basted my thumb
At least I know Bernina long arms can go through thumbs. 😲

I have a rescheduled nail appointment first thing this morning (my normal isn't until next Friday, but I'll be en route to Alaska on that day) and then I'll be back at Anns quilt all day the rest of today.

Had a lovely conversation with a customer yesterday while I was working. I love my customers; they are so friendly, full of great stories, and insightful information. She was giving me a heads-up for incoming tops she'll be dropping off later this summer-ish.

Here's some more quilting going into the Floral Felicity...

I love texture!
We think we have our dog sitter situation figured out. I was becoming stressed about the girls heading to Lansing for 12 days because...well...plenty of reasons. The girl that watched them during the reunion has agreed to watch them again this time around so they'll be home here where they are most comfortable and she has plenty of family down the road to assist if she has any questions or concerns. Yay!

Broken Toe

Maybe the quilt Gods are telling me I'm not supposed to long arm? Here's the latest injury in the elder DeGroot household...

Broke my toe
And man did it hurt yesterday while working. It's a bit better today, but then again, I haven't really done a whole lot yet.

Bunny's Flea Market quilt is done but not yet off the frame. Here's what I'll be working on today once I get the other quilt off...

Look familiar?
Yep. Grannies Garden #2. This one is for Carla. She has another one in the queue that'll be next onto Marty. At least with this one I won't have to think much about what I'm doing since I've already done one and she wants it done the same.

And, that's pretty much going to be my day while hobbling around the place.

Still Not Motivated

I'm already pretty sick of this cast!

Mothers Day flowers from Jim
I walked a half mile this morning trying to get into the right head space and that didn't work. Maybe blogging will help?

I've done nothing out in the studio all weekend so here are more flower pics...

From our bushes

Everything becomes a high level of frustration and then I have a hot flash. So, I've been having lots and lots of them. UGH!!! I need to find my happy place again.

Cast Day

My new six week friend

Good news-I don't need surgery. Bad news-I have to wear this cast for a total of (I'll get two) six weeks.

Haven't tried to long arm yet. I know I can't cut fabric so sewing is out. Even blogging is difficult. This is going to be a challenge. I did wrap my arm and secured the bag with duct tape for my shower, but shredded the bag when taking it off.

We did some errands after my appointment to include going to Meijer and even selecting things off the shelf was a new experience. We picked up a relatively inexpensive zip jacket I could cut the cuff off of to accommodate the cast during colder weather...which we have coming tomorrow. I need to fuss with that today so I can make it work.

It is what it is and it's not the end of the world; I just have to adjust and carry on.

Two customers expected today to drop-off. Here's crossing the fingers (on the left hand) on the long arming front.

First Time in Seven Summers

Yesterday turned out to be a half day of work for me. Jim got home around lunch time towing this behind the truck. Once we got through lunch...
