Row #1-11 Color Changes

I've started getting into the rows on the quilt being worked on Bernie. 11 color changes so far and many more in the future as I look ahead.

After I worked for the day I was able to get the Fireworks quilt bound...

I did a Love Letter block and then afterwards, did a cowboy boot.

I'm going to finish loading the baby quilt on DW this morning and get started on it. I'll work some temperature blocks as well while Jim is at the food pantry working this morning.

Weird Weather

The hot, muggy days like yesterday are bound to produce some interesting weather. Thankfully, we're up here in a valley where we get very mild weather. It's rare for us to have to seek shelter or worry about a storms fury. Unlike those folks downstate. They have all the fun. 

Ila's quilt is done and I'm moving over to Ginny's quilt on Bernie today. I've already started ditching and have been quilt planning since loading it yesterday afternoon.

A row by row

I'll be working on this cute piece most of the day. 

While getting this quilt above started I was frame ironing on both DW and Marty for their next projects. I'm ready to load on DW but have another couple of advances on Marty. I was waiting for Jim to get back from the food bank yesterday and blanket stitched this cowboy boot...

Howdy, howdy, howdy

Once that was finished I started to bind the Firework quilt until we left for our weekly groceries. I had, throughout the day yesterday, made a back for the baby quilt going onto DW and made two bindings. One for the baby quilt and the other for the Firework. Can't work on the baby quilt until the other one is bound. My rules. Otherwise nothing would get bound around here. 

Jim is off to the dentist this morning. Went yesterday and they didn't think anything was amiss, but had another tooth in front of the offender bother him throughout the night so he has an appointment to get that looked at. All of this without insurance. Just great. 

Running Out Of Fabric

I have six projects going on in the studio right now. My Jacqueline is at a standstill because I need more fabric to finish the last go-around. I can't order any for it on-line because I need to make sure the correct colors get placed in each section. Computers aren't always true to color.

The flannel rag quilt for Jim is on hold until my order comes in from MSQC.

The Happy Camper piece may be worked next, but I'll have to pirate some of the black fabric from the Jacqueline piece to work on it.

The Row by Row quilt along is a monthly thing and until Irene puts up another month, that's parked.

The Scrap Happy top can be continued for a little bit, but once all the slabs are built, I have no background fabric for the thing...unless I pirate the white from the Row by Row to continue on. See...I need more fabric.

The quilt for my mom is in the works and the top will be completed today. The center section of this quilt is the quilt along I'm doing with Helen Godden and won't be able to quilt it until she gets through all her videos (in two weeks). BUT, I'm thinking with the leftover fabrics, I may just get creative and make a matching pillow to go with the quilt.

Moms Mothers Day Quilt for her new Condo

The wind outside today is screaming (again), so long arming probably would not be a good idea. I'll make the back for the animal/barn top from last week and at least attempt to get it loaded.

Maybe I need to get a large black and white order in to MSQC for some more white and black? I don't think I'm going to be able to get anymore otherwise.

New Project

The blocks are into rows, but the rows aren't put together yet. But isn't this cool?

Morning Star

Katie gave me a Dream Big panel for my birthday last year. I've been looking, and looking, and looking some more for something out of the ordinary to do with the panel. I didn't want to just quilt it like everybody else has done.

Then I went to the Pieces of Thyme tent sale on Saturday, at my husbands suggestion (he's the BEST) and (yes, I know, I was there Friday too, but only on a mission trip rather then a fun buying trip) and found this pattern on sale! Two more panels later and this is what you get. I can't wait to dive into the quilting on this!

We were in and out all weekend so this is about all that was accomplished in here. I just got a call for a few quilts for customers to work on, so the project above will have to wait to be done. But it's going to be fun when I finally get into it.

And, I'm starting to research the rows I would like to do for this years Row by Row. I've selected 10 shops, all over the state, and mom has indicated she'd like to ride along Friday when I get six or seven of the ten obtained. I'll need kits for about half of the blocks/rows; maybe more depending on how much I can derive from my stash. I'll have to talk to Jim about the possibility of said adventure because I know we have other priorities around here to work on and spending coin on a fun thing isn't a priority right now.

Adriannes Quilt Top

This occupied most of my afternoon. The morning was spent going over to Pieces in Thyme quilt shop for their annual tent sale. I really had to put my blinders on and only head to the section where I knew the fabric was I needed. I didn't want to tempt myself.

But my wonderful, considerate husband is taking me back over there this morning to actually see what she has to offer. Very exciting!!!!!!!

I have a decision to make, and it's a rather quick decision I need to get to in my head. Am I going to do row by row this year? I haven't done it the last two years, and I really miss it. It's fun running around to each of the quilt shops and deciding whether to just get the pattern, or actually get the whole kit for the pattern.

And I like the challenge. No, actually, I love the challenge. And I have all the resources to complete the quilt from start to finish. Here's the catch. This years' theme is: Taste the Experience. What a fun theme to work from and now to decide.

Mom's Day

My mom was easy to buy for this year; she basically told us what she wanted.

Jim's mom is another story. The woman is difficult to figure out. She loves to eat (but complains about her weight). She loves to buy clothes (but again, her weight is up and down). And, quite frankly, the woman has more clothes then Jim and I combined.

While waking up a few mornings ago, I remembered that Jim's mom loves pictures. She likes taking them, developing them, writing on them, and then sending them back (at some point). I took all of yesterday and created a photo book for her with the new grand babies and grand kids, and a few of us.

The prior day, while waiting for pictures to arrive electronically from the boys, I completed a little squirrel project that was started Sunday.

The thread arrived today (since I ran out Monday) from Utah and so today is the last day on "The Beast". Wish me luck.

8 Months Old!

Hazel is now officially eight months old! After going through my phone deleting pictures yesterday, I scrolled back to when we first got her. I can't believe how quickly she wormed her way into our hearts.

Eight Months Old

Long arming took up most of the day yesterday; until thread became an issue.

When ya can see the white...

There is one appliqué border to finish and this is not enough thread to finish it. Especially when the bobbin is also empty. The order is in for more thread.

Today work will be done on a little "squirrel" project purchased last week when mom and I were out shopping in Pinconning. The Bittersweet Quilt Shop had an amazing Row by Row block last year and I found I just HAD to do it. She didn't have any kits left, but the pattern was still available. I'll see what I can make out of it since all my other projects don't sound very appealing to me today.
