Couch Camp

Sunday was spent in and out of the studio despite my 'rule' of not going in there on Sunday's. Jim had a basketball game at 4-ish and I didn't really feel like listening to him bark at the refs/players on the TV. I did my strip and then made a caddy, as well as cutting up for the cowboy boots. I loaded up the flimsy I found in my stash before lunch.

During his game I headed to the studio to work on this...

This is going to be a spring coat
Here's what I quilted into it...

This is just me doing some hand guided free motion quilting. It was well after dark and even the game ended before I got it done. But it's on the frame (Marty) waiting for me to take it off.

So a few days ago I thought I had developed a terrible cat allergy. Turns out I was actually coming down with something. Still not sure what this is. Today my left ear is plugged like it was when we came back from Alaska last August.

I've had every cold symptom known except for the really sore throat. No nausea or diarrhea so it's not the flu. However, I'm fuzzy headed and dizzy still today despite having spent the past two days on the couch. And, I'm so very tired.

I can't long arm if I'm dizzy. That's not cool. Nor is it safe. I'm going to try to get out there this morning and see how things go. I'm not going to push it though and if I'm not feeling it, it may be another day at couch camp.

Well...This Should be Interesting

Even writing my blog is becoming a challenge.

Broken finger
I fell down the stairs at my brothers house the very first hour we were there. I put off getting it looked at until I got back home.

X-Rays showed a break in my pinkie. I see an ortho hand specialist on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, I have this cumbersome contraption until then.

I'm going to try to long arm a little tomorrow. I just got home today from moms pacemaker surgery and had to be up this morning at 4:00. I'm too tired to do much else so I guess while she is home resting and recovering I'll take it easy the rest of today as well.

Well, Hullo Thar

Do not get Influenza B. Wash your hands. Keep your fingers away from your face. Prevention is key.

I've been out of commission since my last post (Dec. 18) and I do not want a repeat performance of what I've been dealing with since then. Every flu symptom you could possibly envision I got to experience.

I'm still not 100% but at least I'm on the mend. I've been doing "quiet" work the past two days; piecing Produce Section blocks and was actually on the long arm yesterday for a little while. My strength is low so didn't push myself.

Here's some of what I've been up to for the past three weeks...

Apples

Kiwis

Cantelopes
And while the family was here Saturday for Christmas, Andrew put this together for me...

The lego sewing machine
Here's the long arming I did yesterday...

Starting a new quilt
I did get Timber off the frame and bound a few days ago (Tuesday, I think). That'll be going to the C's. I've also been doing a lot of crocheting. Two scarves completed and another one started last night. A lot of reading as well as a lot of sleeping factored into my life the past three weeks. But I'm glad to be heading in the "repair" direction. It was hard staying out of the studio for so long. So, so hard!

I'm going to take today slow. I've already worked on getting more of the house undecorated and put back together. Called my dad. Did some regular chores around the place and now I'm going to work on a few more Produce Section blocks. Maybe some long arming after lunch? Jim is working today so the house is quiet.

On a Whim

The morning started out with the Temperature blocks and then I had to make a prototype of a notebook cover to see if I liked the pattern I...
