I May Have Went Too Far

I'm actually feeling worse this morning than I did yesterday morning, but better than Saturday or Sunday morning. I noticed when I came out of the studio last night that I wasn't feeling the greatest.

But, I'm going to continue on today like nothing is wrong. I've got things to do. I'm nearly at the half-way point of the Dresden quilt for Diana. At least it's off the floor this morning. After working I needed to complete the block in the Quilt Room that was started on Saturday. 

I finished the block and have matched it up with the two blocks above. 

Still needs borders, etc.

It still needs to be bordered and the embroidery hoop block will be set in there as well. I wasn't up to wrestling with something big last night. Still kinda achy.

Gridding out the interfacing

There is pre-printed interfacing for purchase in increments of your choosing, but it's just as easy (and way cheaper) to make your own gridded interfacing for a smaller project. I would not attempt to do this on something huge. I did that once already and it was a nightmare.

You'll see later this week what's happening here but I think it's going to turn out well. 

Today will be a repeat of yesterday except for the weather. I should be less apt to squirrel since the weather outside is rainy for now. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day with temps around 70 with the sun shining; who wouldn't squirrel with weather like that?

Problem Solved

As much as I can't believe I'm saying this but it WAS our bladder tank causing all our water issues. The well guy didn't even head to the well when he arrived but immediately headed to the crawl space to check out the tank. Sure enough, despite what the plumber said, the tank was bad.

So far we have great water pressure, the water smells cleaner (another well guy said it was the bladder tanks that was causing the issue with our smell/salt content), and we are still clearing out all the mud from the days worth of usage without the filter.

After working well past quitting time I cut out and then pieced the next block in the Quilt Room.

Block #10

I jumped on DW and worked a full row in the Book Nook while I was talking to Andrew on his way home.

I had enough time to cut out for the next block in the Quilt Room before closing up for the night. 

This morning we have to run into town; I'm going to support mom at her art show exhibition and Jim is going to run errands. He'll meet me back at the art show later. I'll work this afternoon after we return and I get back into my comfy clothes. 😀 I remember when I used to like dressing up. It must be my age?

It's Friday!

So many things to do today and tomorrow. Nails first thing. Running over to Pieces after that. Customer coming to drop off after that. Long arming after that. And that's my morning so far.

I love Dresdens!

Dresdens are actually Dahlia's. An actual Dresden has rounded edges and not pointed. But I think as quilters we just lump them together.

These are similar to what I've been quilting in the Flea Market quilts, so nothing new there. The only change is the feathers I'm putting around each plate and how I'm working the borders.

Happy Monday

It's a beautiful sunny spring day out there this morning. But, we sure need some rain. We had a frost last night meaning all the plants purchased on Saturday had to be brought in last night. Jim just came home to "let them all out" for the day.

I may need some more

Jim counted 50. If I set the blocks at a 7x8 configuration I need six more. The pattern only counts for 48, but I would like to make this bigger than previously with less of a border needed. The pattern doesn't even give a border, but all the ones I've seen have put one on and it looks much better.

Keri's Flea Market top

We've seen this one before. I have three more sitting on the rack waiting for quilting too. Tina said there were 32 in the class, which accounts for why I'm getting so many of these. Since I've done these before, it won't take me as long to figure out what to put into it, but Keri and I came up with some specific ideas so I'm going to need to pay attention to each section as I start. 

Tomorrow is sit-and-sew/guild meeting and I really want to go. But one of my customers is coming first thing tomorrow morning so I may just end up going to the meeting in the evening. And, I really should stay here and work since I'm still pretty deep in unfinished customer tops. Ahhh...the life of a working girl.

Listen to Your Body

Apparently the rest on Tuesday was badly needed. I was nearly back to my normal self yesterday and completed two quilts.

Yee-Haw

I would like to long arm today, but the wind is just howling. Compromising DW's electrical system on account of power rolls is a decision I'll need to make. I'm going to get the new batting roll I received prior to our leaving put on the batting bar, and load another customer quilt. After lunch, I'll see what that winds are doing, but I'm not very hopeful.

Katie said I need to find some fabric to play with in here, and the Happy Camper blocks are STILL sitting on my design wall waiting for mom to come over to finish helping me design the thing. Maybe I'll try to tackle that myself, or, my Jacqueline DeJong blocks could be drug back out and worked on. Gotta see where my head leads me I guess.

Dresden Beauty

I love the Dresden pattern. I love making them. I love quilting them. They're just so versatile. This is the latest on the long arm. 10 hours in and have just reached the half-way point. It's a big one for sure but I'm having so much fun quilting it for the lovely customer who brought it to me. 

Mickey's Dresdens

Meeting mom for an early lunch, then work, then home to pack for the concert this weekend. No quilting or long arming for a few days. Sad face. But Garth should be fun and maybe the break is needed since we've been going 100 miles an hour the past few weeks. You know, refresh and revive.
